Artist Bio

Kimbert Sylvester is a fashion illustrator and designer originally from St. Thomas. He moved to Brooklyn, New York at the age of nine and currently resides in Wilson, North Carolina.

Sylvester started modeling as a teen in New York and immersed himself in the fashion world. Inspired by his grandmother who was always sewing her own dress designs and the works of Dior. He admired them and went on to create his own style of woman’s wear.   

While in high school, he studied fashion design at William H. Maxwell, V.H.S in Brooklyn, and later studied fashion design and marketing at Katherine Gibbs School in New York.     

Sylvester’s fashion illustrations are typically done on paper while his wearable fashion designs may even be assembled from fabric he has painted. “Fashion is Art and Art is Fashion,” says Sylvester.
