Christopher Woodard
Christopher Woodard is an Wilsonian who lets his creative inner child run free! Inspired at an early age by the classic cartoons. It easily led him down a path of illustration. Later in life he was inspired and enthralled by all things pop culture, music, and yes still the classic cartoons. Christopher currently teaches “Paint & Sip” parties, hosts classes for children, and offers private instruction as well. Christopher is a jack of many trades in the art world. He transcends traditional fine art forms which he enjoys as well. But he not only creates amazing and whimsical illustrations but is also a graffiti artist, works with neon installations, and creates custom painted clothing and shoes. Christopher’s process is one where he thinks of an object, takes or finds his own reference photos to examine his subject from all angles. He then grabs whatever supplies are in reach then double checks his references, TURNS UP THE TUNES and lets inspiration take over and let the magic unfold. His go to mediums are watercolor, markers, acrylic, spray paint, airbrush, pastels, chalk, and colored pencils. He sticks with subject matters like cartoons, freestyle, pop art, and celebrations. One can find his murals in many of the Wilson County schools, even in Raleigh. He has illustrated many children’s books and has won 1st place in several street chalk art competitions.
